Job Description

**Introduction** **Your role and responsibilities** Test Specialist, IBM Corporation, Costa Mesa, CA (Up to 60% telecommuting permitted): * Serve as a subject matter expert for ITS processing and mentor and train team members on ITS applications. Oversee, lead and coordinate test efforts for small, medium, and complex projects and SSCRs. * Analyze business requirements and coordinate with the business and development team to derive test requirements. * Enter test scenarios into appropriate platforms. Attend daily scrum, scrum of scrums, walkthroughs, and sprint retrospective meetings where daily tasks, issues, concerns and areas that need to be improved are discussed. * Review and approve test plans based on project needs. * Conduct meetings with business and IT teams to review the test cases and test plans and get approvals from stakeholders. * Estimate the level of effort for the assigned project/SSCR and review estimate submissions. * Coordinate with the test data management team for test data needs. * Oversee various tests such as Functional, System, Integration, User Acceptance, Regression Testing. * Provide daily status reports (Defect Tracking Report, Test Summary Report, Test Status Report and Weekly Status Reports) to stakeholders. * Upload test cases and test results in the test plan and link test cases to user stories in Jira or requirements in RDNG. * Perform tracking and logging of defects with a high level of detail, accuracy, and informative recreation steps using various defect tracking tools. * Coordinate with respective development teams in defect resolution. * Monitor test execution activities and identify risks/challenges upfront, bring them to the attention of respective project managers. * Create a Requirement Tractability Matrix and Test Execution Reports. * Prepare Test Evaluation Summary Report and review it with the business. * Ensure approval has been received from appropriate stakeholders for test cases, test plans, test results, and Test Evaluation Summary Reports for each effort. * Utilize: Mainframe Technologies on z/OS using Customer Information Control System (CICS), Information Management System Database (IMS DB), Information Management System Data Communication (IMS DC), IBM Relational Database 2 (DB2), Common Business Oriented Language (COBOL), Job Control Language (JCL) and Easytrieve. Required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master's degree) and one (1) year of experience as a IT Quality Control Advisor or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing Mainframe Technologies on z/OS using CICS, IMS DB, IMS DC, DB2, COBOL, JCL and Easytrieve. SN120. Full time. $138447 to $179900 per year. **Required technical and professional expertise** Required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master's degree) and one (1) year of experience as a IT Quality Control Advisor or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing Mainframe Technologies on z/OS using CICS, IMS DB, IMS DC, DB2, COBOL, JCL and Easytrieve.
