As a **Software Engineer II** working on Azure Storage infrastructure services, you will help plan, design, and develop software systems that underlie and ensure the success Azure Storage. The systems you will build and own are used monitor, diagnose, and automate real-time recovery to ensure the health and correct function of Azure Storage datacenters and services, and also provide proactive awareness and tooling to ensure recovery efforts are efficient, compliant, and safe. In this role, you will help build and scale out new services which will form the foundation of Azure Storage future infrastructure. You will use modern programming languages and technologies to write code, perform testing and debug any issues with robust documentation, procedures for deployment and processes for maintenance. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond. **Responsibilities** + Define feature level specifications within a system that manages resource usage in a dynamic environment. + Design and build components, tools and telemetry for these features and integrate into the system/platform. + Communicate and document the design clearly and effectively to the development team and other stakeholders. + Partner with appropriate stakeholders to provide improvements to the implementation, monitoring and robustness. + Respond to changing business requirements by generating new ideas, pivoting development and incorporating process changes. + Participate in DevOps to provide operational support. + Embody our culture ( and values ( **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python + OR equivalent experience + At least one year experience backend experience (PAAS, SAAS, IAAS) **Other Requirements:** Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  + Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript or Python + OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python + OR equivalent experience Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
