Senior C++ Engineer – Trading Infrastructure

Location: Midtown NYC (Hybrid, 3 days on-site)

Compensation: $200K–$265K base + bonus (Total comp up to $320K–$350K)

A leading global financial firm is looking for a Senior C++ Engineer to join a mission-critical team responsible for building out a next-generation trading platform focused on equities and futures. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who thrives in a high-performance environment and enjoys driving complex systems from design to deployment.

What You’ll Do:

Design and develop scalable, fault-tolerant trading infrastructure in modern C++ (17/20).
Own projects end-to-end, from system architecture to hands-on coding and production support.
Work on trade flow systems that prioritize accuracy and uptime over speed—ideal for those with experience in execution platforms, not HFT.
Build and maintain robust messaging frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Solace, Tervela or similar).
Utilize your expertise in low-level networking and multithreading to drive system performance.
Lead and mentor a small team of engineers, helping shape the technical direction and upskill talent.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including quant and trading groups.
Contribute to product expansion efforts in new global markets.

What They're Looking For:

7+ years of hands-on C++ development experience in production environments.
Background in building real-time or high-reliability systems—experience in trading or financial platforms is a strong plus.
Proficiency with messaging middleware and network-level programming.
Strong architectural instincts and a track record of delivering production systems.
Leadership qualities—either through mentorship, tech direction, or team management.
