The Company:

Island Group Enterprises (IGE) is a privately-owned conglomerate of seven companies specializing in chemical manufacturing and distribution for the aerospace & defense sector, triacetate film production for commercial and medical applications as well as semiconductor equipment solutions . The organization maintains three manufacturing plants - Island Polymer Industries (IPI GmbH) in Wolfen, Germany, Island Veer Chemie (IVC) in Hyderabad, India and IGE Performance Chemicals in Mountain Top, PA. Additionally, IGE has satellite trading offices located in India, China and Brazil. The manufacturing and trading operations support IGE’s established client relationships and enhance our presence in the markets we serve.

The Position:

IGE is seeking a Sales Manager to support the development and sale of IGE’s proprietary product line of Pathology, Histology, and Cytology equipment in North and South America. These products primarily include IGE’s film coverslipper devices and subsequent film slides. The Sales Manager will work closely with IGE’s manufacturing and distribution team located in Germany to identify new business opportunities for IGE’s Histology products and enhance existing products. The Sales Manager will also be responsible for all sales-related activities for the Histology products in North and South America including sales demonstrations, installations and training of customers and distributors.

Responsibilities:

• Install Coverslipping devices and train customers and distributors in proper operation and maintenance.
• Promote IGE’s Coverslipping devices through sales initiatives such as attending conferences and providing sales demonstrations.
• Create, and further enhance, promotional and advertising material for the film coverslippers and film slides.
• Identify new areas of growth specifically those in emerging markets
• Provide customer feedback to the manufacturing team to enable further development and enhancements.
• Assist in the set up of an in-house Histology lab at IGE’s facility in Mountain Top, PA.

​ Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required with concentration in business-related or Histological field; 5+ years of previous medical device sales or equivalent experience working in a Histology lab is required.
• Knowledge of the medical device industry required; knowledge in Pathology and cover-slipping technology preferred.
• Proficient skills with Microsoft Office required.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a detail-orientated environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively in a teamwork environment.
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally when required (~15%)
